While we’re all waiting patiently for Sony to announce the specs of the PlayStation 5, it was GameStop who let the cat out of the bag. Yes, you heard us right, GameStop! If you go to sign up for PS5 info on the GameStop website, you’ll see a list of impressive specs. If GameStop has all this info, then a PS5 announcement from Sony is imminent…right?…why haven’t we heard anything from Sony yet!? Well, we believe it might have to do with backwards compatibility and pricing. It’s truly a mystery and one that we’ll do our best to solve in this video.

According to GameStop, the PS5 will have full 8K TV support, a bespoke 8-core AMD chipset, 3D Audio, built-for-purpose SSD storage, backwards compatibility with PS4 games and PSVR hardware and ray-tracing capabilities. All of these specs were mentioned in the leaks from months ago, but now they’re officially confirmed, so we’re pretty excited. As for the reason why Sony hasn’t announced anything themselves yet, well, that might be because they’re waiting for Mcirosoft to blink first and reveal the price of their upcoming Xbox Series X. If the new Xbox is only $400-450, that could be a huge problem for Sony.

There’s more to the reason why Sony has kept mum on the PS5 than that, so enjoy the video, let us know what you think about the specs and rumors in the comments section below and don’t forget to subscribe to TheGamer for more gaming content.
