Weekly cleaning is recommended to keep your Honeywell Warm Mist Humidifier running efficiently.

Before cleaning, turn off, unplug, and wait 20 to 30 minutes for the unit to cool before cleaning. All maintenance should be done in the kitchen or bathroom on a water-resistant surface near a faucet.

Empty the water tank and Essential Oil Cup and set aside. Next, remove the mist chimney by pulling the red latch toward the front of the unit, and lift straight up.

Then, remove the Water Tray by lifting from the tab and empty the water. Replace the water tray and mist chimney. These must be in place for cleaning.

Next, follow these separate steps for descaling and disinfecting. Both steps are important and must be performed separately.

Slowly pour 2 cups of undiluted, distilled white vinegar into the reservoir where it will drain into the heating chamber soak for twenty minutes to loosen mineral buildup on the heating element.

After soaking, remove the mist chimney. Remove the heating element cover. Wet the bristles of a soft brush with vinegar and gently scrub the heating element, and other parts to remove mineral deposits.

If scale is still visible, moisten a paper towel with vinegar and wrap it around the heating element. Let it sit for at least 30 minutes or until scale loosens. Remove the paper towel and scrub off any remaining scale.

Next, remove the water tray and empty the vinegar into sink and rinse until the smell of vinegar is gone. Replace the Water Tray in the base. Replace the heating element cover and lock the mist chimney in place to begin the disinfecting process.

Use gloves while performing the disinfecting process.
Mix a half gallon of water with a half teaspoon of bleach and pour the solution into the water tank.

Replace the tank cap and gently swish to wet the inside of the tank. Place the water tank on the base so the solution drains into the reservoir and soak for twenty minutes.

After soaking, remove the water tank and carefully empty the bleach solution into the sink. Rinse with water until the smell of bleach is gone.

Then, carefully remove the mist chimney and set aside. Empty the solution from the Water tray and rinse until the smell of bleach is gone.

Remove the heating element cover and rinse and wipe the heating element until the smell of bleach is gone.

To Reassemble, place the Water Tray in the base. Attach the Heating Element Cover and secure the Mist Chimney. With the Tank Cover securely closed, replace water tank on base.
Your humidifier is now clean.
